Those of you who know me well enough know that I'm currently the Media & Content Officer at Leeds College of Music. It is a lot of fun, not least because of the music, but also because its so people facing. Which, as we know from this little blog here, is a big passion of mine.
Over the last few months, I've been working on various projects that aim to bring the conservatoire's people a little more to the forefront. In doing this, I've had the chance to meet some amazing characters, and musicians.
Hollie April has a beautifully haunting voice that runs starkly off her sunny lyrics. I worked with her on a website photoshoot and video. Her soundcloud is here - if you watch the short video below I directed and briefed, you'll be hooked enough on the snippets of her music to check it out:
Alexandra Marshall is a talented cellist and all-round lovely lady. Sometimes I meet students in my job that are mature, centered and wholesomely fun and I wonder how they manage it so young. Big things a-coming for this one:
Matt Dowson is one of those people who makes everybody energetic in their company. He helped break a Guinness World Record drumming in time with 300 others, and inspired me to conceptualize and direct the below video, which was put together with his generous help:
